Understanding Our Preservation Cost Recovery Fee
A uniform preservation cost recovery fee applies to all companion placements. This fee offsets programmatic bloodline maintenance, comprehensive genetic screening, and early neurological socialization protocols. It does not represent a retail purchase price. We do not offer discounts, promotional pricing, or seasonal sales.
We encourage every family to independently verify our health clearances through the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) and review breed standards at the American Kennel Club (AKC) .
Q: How do I reserve one of your available American Akita puppies?
A: Complete the companion application linked on this page. Consequently, we review applications in order of fit, not order of submission. If your household aligns with the puppy’s temperament, we schedule a phone consultation. We only accept a preservation cost recovery deposit after mutual agreement is reached. We do not support instant online checkouts.
Q: At what age can a puppy leave your home?
A: We do not release any companion before they are 8 to 10 weeks of age. Specifically, they must complete their Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) protocols and receive a final veterinary clearance. Therefore, this extra time with the dam and littermates ensures they transition to your home with maximum structural and emotional stability.
Q: Can I visit your homestead to meet the puppies before placing a deposit?
A: Because of biosecurity risks to newborn puppies, we do not allow general public visits. However, we do schedule private video calls for approved applicants. We also welcome in-person pickups at 8 weeks of age. If you require an in-person meeting before that time, we can arrange a safe, outdoor meeting after their first vaccinations.
Q: How does the preservation cost recovery fee work?
A: We do not have a “price list” or offer promotional discounts. Instead, a uniform fee applies to all placements. This fee offsets the programmatic costs of OFA health clearances, multi-generational genetic panels, ENS protocols, and veterinary care. It does not represent a retail purchase price. Q: What happens if the puppy I want is already marked "Pending" or "Placed"?
A: Because we only produce one or two carefully planned litters per year, our companions frequently place quickly. However, you can still submit an application to be placed on our waitlist for future preservation litters. We will contact you when the next litter is expected.
Q: Do you choose the puppy for me, or do I choose?
A: We guide the placement based on temperament alignment. We evaluate every puppy using Volhard testing and daily observation. Therefore, we will recommend the puppy whose energy and drive best match your household’s lifestyle, whether you are looking for a calm family companion or a confident working prospect.
